Reggaelation IndependAnce

On Sunday another outstanding Japanese band playing on Moon Shine stage, Reggaelation IndependAnce, also made extensive use on of echo and distortion through the mixing desk while they played. They value the skills of their mixer so much that they rightfully acknowledge the man behind the live dub mix, Hiroaki Ichikawa, as a member of the band on their home page. I will never forget the first time I experienced their unique fusion of afrobeat and dub, late one night when I stumbled into their show late one night at the Crystal Palace Tent at Fuji Rock. Their funky sax, trumpet and trombone horn section got a full workout from mix man Ichikawa who split, expanded and amplified their brass powered blasts across the surrounding valleys as if he were a dub master like King Tubby. I cannot recommend this band highly enough, so please go and check them out if you get the chance.
