Japanese post-hardcore band, coldrain, have left its comfort zone and main fan base at home and have started a month-long tour in the Old Continent. The first step of the tour is 3 headlining shows in England.

Their UK debut show could not have been better. In a in the small, but welcoming, Barfly, the atmosphere was intoxicating and the energy of both the band and crowd through the roof.

If there was a doubt in anybody’s head that coldrain was going to conquer London, it got dissipated with the first chords of No Escape, with which they opened the show. The response of the audience was immediate and an instant mosh pit and plenty of headbanging broke in the floor.

The show lasted about an hour, during which they played 12 songs from their various releases, but if you asked the crowd at the Barfly, it was not enough. But then again, with this great band, no matter how much they play, it is never enough.

Next stop on the tour is Bristol, where they will perform at the Thekla on February 1st. So if you are in the area and want to enjoy some great and intense music, do not think it for a moment, coldrain’s show is the place to be.
