ペーター・フォン・ペールはスウェーデン人の母とドイツ人の父の持ち、フランスにてミュージシャンとしてのキャリアがスタートした。過去には数々のフランスの著名ミュージシャンと共にレコーディング参加やツアーを共にし、現在はソロ活動をしている。もちろん過去の経歴からしてフランスでの人気が一番高い模様。ゆったりとしたレイドバックなポップソングが中心の音楽で、言われてみればフランスっぽいかなぁという感じである。
ペーターは今回のザ・グレート・エスケープにて4回のライブをやった。この日は2回あったのだが、私が取材したこちらは1回目のもの。元々はこの日は1回のみだったのだが、間際になって突然決定。公式プログラムを印刷するまでには間に合わなかった予定変更である。おまけに6時45分スタートだったので夜の部にしては時間が早いということで、観客の集まりが悪かった。場所はAudioという小型音楽ヴェニューの上の階にあるバーだったのだが、そのバーも多く見ても50人ほどしかお客さんが入ってない。ちゃんと聴いてる人は10人ほどしかいなく、がやがやする周りのおしゃべり声にかき消されるような状態でのライブだった。かなりやりずらかったのでは無いかと思われる。 同フェスティバルのほかの出演ではキーボードの人がいたらしいが、このライブではペーター1人での演奏。遅い午後の光の中で、しかも海が見えるバーにて、ゆったりとギターの弾き語りだったのですごく良い感じだったのだが、とにかく大半が聴いてない観てない状態だったので、おしゃべりの嵐に負けてバックグラウンド・ミュージックと化してしまっていた。それだけがほんとに（本当にマジで！）残念だった。 comment and photos by emi |
