Guitar Wolf made its first ever tour of Taiwan, playing Kaohsiung on Nov. 12 and Taipei on Nov. 13. The band is getting ready to release its 10th studio album, Space Battleship Love, on Nov. 24, which is the first Guitar Wolf album in more than three years. Before the Taiwan shows, the band did lots of touring in Japan in September, then played several high-profile shows in the US in October, including a Matador Records showcase with Sonic Youth and Pavement and also headlined Goner Fest in Memphis, Tennessee. In Taiwan, fans were whipped into a frenzy by the jet engines of Guitar Wolf’s raw trash rock ‘n roll, and as always, the band gave 185% on stage, nearly collapsing as they exited to the backstage area after hour-long sets. The lineup is the same as it has been for the last four years: Seiji (guitar), U.G. (bass) and Toru (drums).
