北海道でパーキンソンズの最後のライヴとなったのはタワー・レコードがスポンサーしている"Fire Starter Vol.9"というもの。なんでもインディを中心として才能あるバンドやアーティストを北海道に紹介しようという趣旨で行われているもので、この日は全部で5バンドが出演している。 ただ、これまで海外からのバンドが出演したことはなく、パーキンソンズがその第一弾だとか。ではなぜパーキンソンズか... というと、その理由はシンプルで、タワー・レコード札幌店のスタッフがパーキンソンズをめちゃくちゃ気に入ってくれたからで、たまたま来日とこの長期ツアーのタイミングが合ったからだという。実のところ、札幌店の店長に話を聞いたところ、タワー・レコードの社長がやたらパーキンソンズを気に入っているとのことで、本当はこの日のライヴを見るために東京からやってくるという話もあったそうだ。残念亜柄、それは実現しなかったけど、これはすごい。 この日最初のバンドはロリータ18号。全員女の子のバンドだと思っていたら、ヴォーカルのマサヨが下手で唯一スカートをはいていたメンバーの男性ギタリストをさして「いやぁ、今はちんこが1本入ったんですよ」とのこと。彼とベースのタコチが新メンバーとして紹介されたんだが、なんでも2001年の暮れにメンバー2名が抜けて、今のラインナップになったんだとか。 |
